End of Summer and Labor Day

Wow, its been a long time! I think I have very much been enjoying my time off from school/clinicals which leads me to sometimes avoid my computer like the plague. We have been doing lots of wedding planning! It was a beautiful month of August, capped off by a trip to Dallas, TX the last week of August. Dallas in August however is HOT!!! We had a good time there, seeing the sights, exploring the historical museums and parks, trying some fabulous restaurants (including the tower/revolving Wolfgang Puck Restaurant downtown Dallas - the view was very cool and the food was amazing!). Our hotel was only a block or two from the Grassy Knoll and the Old Book Depository which is now the 6th Floor Museum. We spent a day out in this plaza area and touring the museum, since we both enjoy American history, it was very interesting. We also had a chance to spend time with family that lives down there and have an old fashioned Texas BBQ with them Saturday night. It was great to visit with everyone and of course adore the little ones :)

We got out on the boat one more time after the eyeball incident and hoping that September might grace us with a few beautiful weekends of weather so we can make it out a few more times.

Labor day weekend, I worked a lot of it and Jason golfed a bunch; but Saturday night we were able to take in the Badger game and a cookout together with friends.

So, clinicals....It is interesting, exciting, busy, and slightly intimidating. The settings I am in prove to be challenging in different respects but equally intriguing. My preceptors are both fantastic PNP's and have a lot to offer me as a student. I spent the firsts week with my head almost spinning! There are a lot of hours ahead and hopefully a lot of learning too!

The newest thing in our life, is that we have shifted "browsing the local housing market" up a couple notches to "looking for the house for us - hopefully in the next few months." It is a lot of fun to look at homes in the area. Our realtor thinks we are entertaining with all of our likes/dislikes/wants and must haves. It is definitely a challenging decision, but we are excited about it and very much looking forward to moving into our own "home."

This weekend we have lots of family time, which we are very excited about. My family is coming down for the weekend and Jason's parents are coming over on Sunday for the day also. Can't wait to spend time with everyone!
