checking in....

Its been a month since our last post and I can hardly believe it! We have been so busy with wedding planning, doing things around the house, and devoting time to many other things that have needed our attention.

Our family and friends lost a very beloved and amazing man, brother, husband, father, and friend this past week. Curt Bengel had battled courageously for the past year and a half with AML, a form of leukemia. Curt was an inspiration with his attitude, optimism, faith and fight throughout his battle and his entire life. We will all miss him greatly. He was laid to rest yesterday, September 17, 2010 to be in eternal happiness with the Lord. Although it is a sad day for all of us here, we know that Curt is eternally happy and peaceful; always watching down on his amazing wife, Kat, and beautiful children, Emma and Evan. May he rest in peace and may we here surround Kat, Evan and Emma with love, support and continued faith throughout this time of extreme sadness. I ask for your prayers for them in the days, weeks, months and even years ahead.

We had the boat out one last time for Labor Day weekend. Unfortunately my camera has been uncharacteristically quiet this past month :( but here is one quick pic of Jake and I on the boat. He is getting soooo big, but growing healthy says the vet!

Last weekend was my bachelorette party weekend. They rented a house in Lake Geneva for the weekend...it was a great time. Pictures coming soon, as soon as I can get my hands on them :) This weekend is Jason's bachelor party and they are heading to the Dells. I think they'll have a great time!

We can't believe we are only 2 weeks away from the wedding. It seems as though we have been talking about the wedding for such a long time and talking about it as if it is a long ways off, but suddenly is soooo soon!! We are working on lots of last minute details and getting excited for the day to finally be here and to finally be "married". Of course we are looking forward to our honeymoon too!!! We look forward to seeing all of you there that can make it!

Until then, I will continue to enjoy my favorite part of the year...FALL!
